Not every attack is a planned attack on public safety. Negligence and incapacity can lead to incidents in which persons are injured without intentional acts being imputed.
In order to keep the risk for all parties involved low, ComProtect also offers bollard systems that take into account the safety of public spaces and persons as well as the safety of the attacker. The elastically enclosed bollards absorb and distribute the energy of an impact.
Energy-absorbing safety bollards (EAB) are designed to withstand attacks from vehicles up to 7.5 tons and a speed of 48 km/h in accordance with the international standard BSI PAS 68. They are currently undergoing certification and are available as both fixed and retractable bollards.
Energy-absorbing bollards contain a polyurethane foam sleeve that absorbs and distributes the energy released during impact. This increases the safety for the vehicle occupants without limiting the protection in the safety area. Due to its felxible design, an EAP can survive even a light impact without damage.
The retractable EAP allows selective access to a secured area. It is available with access systems for key switch, remote control and smartphone (Android/Apple). The drive-up bollards are also available with LED design and proximity sensor.
Both the bollard diameter and the shape of the bollard caps can be adapted to customer requirements. The bollard caps can be flat, beveled or round. The surfaces can be provided with engraved logos or other decorative elements. Bollard diameters from 150 mm to 355 mm are available.

The diameter of the foundation of the EABs depends on the installation depth. The deeper the foundation the smaller the possible diameter.
